EAMONN Holmes was forced to walk out of Good Morning Britain mid-interview today after suffering a massive coughing fit live on air.
The star was guest hosting the show alongside Kate Garraway while Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid enjoy their Easter break.
Towards the end of the show, the pair were chatting to Julian Clary about his new children's book but Eamonn, 58, had to keep trying to suppress his coughs.
As Julian spoke, he glanced at Eamonn and said: "I'm trying to talk while Eamonn is coughing away."
Putting his hand over his mouth and coughing again, he replied: "I'm sorry mate I got one of those air conditioned coughs on the plane.
"I think what I might do is leave and let you guys carry on."
Kate looked round in shock and asked: "Oh really? Bless you, are you that bad?"
Starting to turn his chair and get up, Eamonn gestured to Julian and said through a thick throat: "Well it's disrespectful, off you go off you go."
He then walked off without another word, leaving the rest of the stars to pause before Julian joked: "Will he ever be seen again?"
Laughing, Kate replied: "Are you the man to finish Eamonn Holmes off Julian?"
Seizing on the innuendo, the comedian joked: "As it were."
They carried on talking about his new book for a few more minutes but Eamonn failed to return.
Once the interview was over, Kate cried: "That's it, we've lost Eamonn! He's gone Charlotte."
Also on today's show, Eamonn slammed 'diva' Mariah Carey after she tried to conduct an interview with him lying down.
He said: "Did I tell you the other story when I went to interview her and she was lying down?
"So I said 'Well if you're gonna lie down I'm lying down too.'"
As the rest of his co-stars laughed, he added: "It didn't end well."
