Earlier this year the star was sitting watching TV with her daughter True lying on her chest, when she noticed she had stopped breathing.

She recalled: “I just noticed at one point she flung herself backwards and it took me a couple of seconds to realise she wasn't breathing.

"At that point I can only describe panic. After about two minutes I just remember my daughter going limp and I felt like when she was giving up.

"All I kept thinking was, 'Oh my gosh, she's going to die. She's going to die'."

The 37-year-old, who broke down in tears as she remembered what had happened, revealed her eldest daughter called for an ambulance and managed to follow the instructions of the emergency services while they waited for help to arrive.

“If it wasn’t for my daughter she might not be here because I didn’t know what to do,” she said.

Since then Jamelia has undertaken CPR training and has been able to help her baby, who has a reflux problem, when she was choking.

"Even yesterday she had an episode, she was choking and I was able to deal with it and she was fine within about five seconds," she said.
