So Selfie-ish

Kym Marsh reveals rude fan asked for a selfie at a funeral and another tried to film her in the hospital

Kym Marsh has revealed that someone once asked her for a selfie at a friend’s funeral.

The Corrie star said she was so stunned by the cheekiness of the request, she didn’t even have time to say no.

Kym revealed she’d been pestered for a selfie at a pal’s funeral

Kym, 41, said in her OK! magazine column: “I was at a friend’s funeral not long ago and I was asked for a selfie during the wake! I didn’t even have a moment to say no as the person had jumped in and snapped the picture before I’d even got over the shock of how inappropriate it was!”

The mum-of-three, who plays  Michelle Connor in the ITV soap,  also said that someone started filming her on their phone once when she was at the hospital with her little girl, Polly, six.

She added: “It was totally weird and I asked them to stop!”

Kym’s comments come after fellow Corrie star Georgia Taylor, who plays Toyah Battersby, was called rude by a fan because she didn’t want her picture taken while she was at the doctor.

Defending herself on Twitter, Georgia, 38, said: “Since when was it deemed acceptable to ask for selfies in the doctors’ reception?

“You have no idea what I’m here for and it’s completely inappropriate, but apparently I’M the ‘rude’ one for saying no.”

Georgia’s other colleagues, including Kim, were quick to jump to her defence.

Her on-screen sister Jane Danson posted: “You are quite possibly the kindest soul I know. Maybe some people should stop and think how ‘rude’ they are?”

Kim tweeted: “Oh good god!! X.”

Georgia’s incident comes after an inappropriate selfie moment aired on Monday night’s Corrie.

Rosie Webster (Helen Flanagan) snapped a picture of herself in front of evil serial killer Pat Phelan (Connor McIntyre) and Eileen Phelan’s (Sue Cleaver) front door after police had swarmed to the cobbles following claims the murdering resident was responsible for four deaths.
