Fay Maschler (née Fay Coventry), 72, was born in India.
In 1972 she won a contest and became the London Evening Standard's restaurant critic.
The position was only meant to be for three months but she's been in the role for over 40 years.
She raises the bar high and once described a Gordon Ramsay kidney dish as “toxic scum on a stagnant pond.”
