EastEnders’ Whitney left reeling as former fiance Woody returns to Walford
WHITNEY Carter's world is turned upside down as former fiance Woody arrives back in Albert Square.
Woody - who's played by former Blue singer Lee Ryan - fled Walford five months ago to start a new life in Spain and Whitney was left without an explanation.
But he arrives unannounced and declares his love for Whitney who is still furious about his disappearance.
An EastEnders insider told Inside Soap: "Five months have passed since Woody did a bunk.
"And if you remember, he didn't even have the guts to tell Whitney to her face that he was leaving."
When Woody went AWOL, he wrote Whitney a note on the back of an envelope.
It said: "Whit! You'll be better off HERE! Sorry, Woody."
When Whitney spots Woody roaming around the neighbourhood, she tries her best to avoid him.
However, Woody tracks her down and tries to win her over with his charm.
He presents Whitney with a bunch of flowers and tells her he's still in love with her and he thought about nothing else while he was soaking up the Spanish sun.
Woody's former bosses, Mick and Linda, were also surprised to see him show up in the pub - and they're not impressed with his efforts to try and win back Whitney.
The source added: "Linda doesn't want Whitney to jeopardise her relationship with Halfway.

"As Linda sees it, Halfway may be a halfwit, but he doesn't have a devious bone in his body and is, in his own way, a better catch than Woody.
"Linda sits Whitney down to make sure her head isn't turned by her former love."
Woody then turns his attention to Mel Owen when he learns there's a manager position going at E20.
- EastEnders airs Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday nights on BBC One
