Emmerdale spoilers: Ross Barton falls into drug addiction to cope with acid attack scars
Rhona Goskirk is concerned about the depressed mechanic when she discovers he’s self-medicating with prescription painkillers but when she confront him he turns on her
ROSS Barton is desperate to get his hands on more prescription painkillers in Emmerdale next week and is tempted into stealing some.
The acid attack victim, played by Mike Parr in the ITV soap, spots a packet among Rebecca White’s belongings, but will he swipe them?
Later, he gets the good news that his sepsis infection has cleared up, but Ross is adamant that he needs more painkillers.
He’s relieved when Dr Cavanagh prescribes him another week’s worth but is rattled when his brother Pete’s girlfriend Rhona Goskirk, played by Zoe Henry, confronts him about the amount of pills he’s been necking.
Rhona becomes concerned when she comes across Ross’ empty pill packet and sees from the prescription date that he’s taking way more than he should be.
But when she questions him about how many drugs he’s taking, Ross becomes aggressive and demands she leaves.
He’s relieved when she’s gone, but how will he react when he realises she’s taken his painkillers with her? Not brilliantly, we predict.
It looks as if Ross could be slipping into a prescription drug addiction as he continues to struggle with the aftermath of the vicious attack that left him scarred for life.
The mechanic’s confidence has been left in tatters after a series of knockbacks including being rejected by Debbie Dingle when he confessed his love for her in heart-breaking scenes.
