John Newman, 27, is a British musician from Yorkshire.
At the age of 20 he moved to London and was signed to Island Records.
He met Rudimental's Piers Agget while working at The Silver Bullet bar.
Two years later they collaborated on the number one single Feel The Love.
When was John Newman diagnosed with a brain tumour?
John was first diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2012 when he began to lose his sight.
He had an operation to remove the benign growth but the illness returned in 2016.
This time the tumour was cancerous so John took a break from music to undergo radiotherapy.
In a statement he said: "People shouldn’t worry about me, the prognosis is good and there are so many people in far more serious situations.
"I just hope this in some way helps raise awareness for those people and encourages people to be tested and treated as early as possible. I am one of the lucky ones!"

John is best known for the dance track Love Me Again which was a UK number one in 2013.
He had a No1 with Rudimental's Feel the Love.
He also collaborated on Rudimental's song Not Giving In and Calvin Harris' single Blame.

John got engaged to his girlfriend Nana in July 2017.
The Danish air hostess met John while they were on the same flight.
An insider said: "John and Nana are completely in love and it felt completely right to get engaged.
