CHARLI XCX was a dead ringer for Ed Sheeran as she donned a ginger beard and wig on TV show Lip Sync Battle.

Her appearance was a far cry from her usual glam look as she battled it out against Rita Ora on the hit US show.

Charli was unrecognisable as she transformed into Ed for the Brit themed week, on the show where you mime other artists' tunes.

Bounding about the stage in a hoodie and T-shirt, Charli, 25, did her best impression of one of Ed's most famous tracks from last year, Shape of You.

The Boom Clap singer channelled Ed’s boxing theme from the Shape of You video, as she and the backup dancers boogied to the song.

And her set certainly went down well with special guest Boy George.

The Culture Club singer even joked that Ed should add a few of Charli’s dance moves into his live set next time.

Ed is currently touring Australia while Charli performed her hilarious impression of him.

However, fans will have to wait until Thursday to see the full performance when the episode airs in the US.

Charli will soon be joining Ed's good friend Taylor Swift on her Reputation tour.

Making the announcement that both Charli and Camila Cabello would be joining her, Taylor said: "I've been wanting to tell you this for a really long time.

"I'm really excited. I hope you are too, can't wait to see you, can't wait to see them."

Charli, who will perform every night on the 51 date tour, responded with a cheeky message on Twitter, writing: "Can I officially be the bad influence on the #ReputationStadiumTour??? (just kidding... or am I??)"
