MICHELLE Heaton has said that doing The Real Full Monty: Ladies’ Night has been like therapy for her, as she underwent confidence counselling on Loose Women today.
The Liberty X singer, who has had a double mastectomy, a hysterectomy and a heart operation in recent years, was given a boost from The Speakmans ahead of her performance.
The star is stripping off alongside seven other brave female celebs to raise money for charity – but admitted she initially didn’t want to take part.
She told the panel: “Initially I said no and then I spoke to my husband and he said ‘you’re crazy, you’re trying to tell all these women out there to be confident who are maybe going through the same things as you, if you can’t do it then they can’t be confident in their bodies and scars’. So I said OK.”
“It’s been a very turbulent six years. Anyone who has young children know how much time it takes up, so I haven’t really had time to grieve or think about it.
“So things like The Real Full Monty, I kind of see it as therapy, I get a lot out of it and that’s another reason why I am doing it.”
She was later joined by The Speakmans, who attempted to make her feel more confident ahead of getting her kit off.
Michelle admitted that prior to chatting to the therapists, she had “forgotten how I feel about me”.
The Speakmans than proceeded to tell an emotional looking Michelle how beautiful she was.

She admitted: “I think that it’s really hard when you get a compliment from anybody. I am my own worst critic.”
Michelle will be taking part in the show with Loose Women presenter Coleen Nolan, broadcaster Victoria Derbyshire, Emmerdale actress Sally Dexter, reality TV star Megan McKenna, actress Helen Lederer, TV legend and presenter Sarah-Jane Crawford.
It will air Thursday, 29th March at 9pm on ITV.
