Lee Mack lands cameo in new series of Doctor Who after auditioning with his OWN Tardis

COMEDIAN Lee Mack has landed a cameo in the new series of Doctor Who after sending in a video audition featuring his own Tardis.

Speaking on Radio 4's Loose Ends, Not Going Out star Lee said: "Not only am I excited about the idea of someone being in Doctor Who, I am also possibly gonna be in it as well.

""I am blink-and-you'll-miss-it. It's just a little thing.

"I've just been a fan all my life, so I just harassed them until they gave me a little part in it."

Lee, 49, who joined The Great Celebrity Bake Off For Stand Up to Cancer line-up, added: "I even sent Chris Chibnall, who runs the show, a video of me getting out of my own Tardis, which I own.

The Not Going Out star appears on The Great Celebrity Bake Off 2018"With a Dalek, which I own as well! And I said 'Come on!'

"It's genuinely a true story – I've got a Tardis at home, it's not bigger on the inside."

"And I said 'Come on, give me a part.' And he said 'Alright!' So that’s what you need to do if you want a part in something. "Just send a video to someone, you'll get the part."

The Would I Lie to You? panellist added: "Now I'm not gonna get the part because they're gonna say 'We told you not to say anything!'"

Doctor Who holds the record of being the longest-running science fiction TV series and is preparing for its 11th season with brand new Time Lord Jodie Whittaker.

It comes after Peter Capaldi bowed out on Christmas Day.

It's been reported fans will have to wait until autumn 2018 to see Jodie's first full series as the Doctor.
