RUSTLING bags of sweets, drinks being slurped and constant chatter can make a trip to the cinema a noisy nightmare.

So just imagine the scene if the audience was full of dogs.

Yesterday, more than 30 owners and their pets attended a special, er, muttinee screening of new Wes Anderson animation Isle Of Dogs in London.

The film has mainly canine characters and features the voices of Bryan Cranston and Frances McDormand.

So we sent our Rover reporter, cavapoo BUDDY to check it out.

Here, he tells us how he got on and what he thought of the film.

A TV as big as my house to bark at and a free blanket to sit on — my trip to the cinema was nowhere near as ruff as I was expecting.

Having watched The Rex-orcist through my paws, I was not looking forward to a film about disease-ridden hounds.

But I was barking up the wrong tree thinking Isle Of Dogs was going to be scary.

It is set 20 years into the future when all dogs in a fictional Japanese city are banished to an island following an outbreak of canine flu.

The film follows the plight of a pack of dogs as they help a stranded boy in the search for his lost pet. It was a bit too sickly sweet in places but me and my pals watched intently — and hardly made a sound.

We loved the voice cast, which also includes Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson.

But none was a patch on Toto, Beethoven, Lassie and Hooch.

Wes Anderson reveals all star cast for new film project Isle of Dogs

Previous Wes Anderson films including The Grand Budapest Hotel and Moonrise Kingdom feature fussy hoteliers and angst-ridden teens.

So I was happy to see the director finally focus on the stars who really matter — us dogs.
