Towie’s James Argent asks Gemma Collins out on a curry date live on Loose Women and denies it’s all a showmance

TOWIE’s James Argent teased fans when he popped “the big question” to on-off girlfriend Gemma Collins on Loose Women today.

Speaking through the camera to the GC, who is in her sickbed, cheeky Arg asked if she would like to go out for a curry date tonight.

He was being quizzed about plans to ask Gemma to finally be his girlfriend after she demanded he take their relationship to the next level.

But in a bid to avoid the question, Arg said to the camera: “Gemma, I know you’re in bed and haven’t been well this week.

“I’ve been thinking long and hard it would mean the world to me… if you would have a curry with me tonight.”

Presenters Kaye Adams, Stacey Soloman Nadia Sawalha and Linda Robson put him on the spot when he came on to talk about appearing on ITV’s The Real Full Monty next week.

When Gemma appeared on Loose Women three weeks ago she said: “It’s been six years and he hasn’t asked me to be his girlfriend so I’ve said unless he asks I’ve definitely got to move on.”

Looking hot under the collar, Arg said no date had been set, but slammed claims their relationship is a showmance.

He said: “We have been spending a lot of time together recently.

“It’s definitely not a showmance.

“I think in the past I put Gemma second and treated us two as a bit of laugh and a joke and stuff.
“But as time has gone by I know that when I don’t see her I miss her a lot.

“When we’re together we’re constantly laughing and having fun.

“I clearly fancy her because we’ve had a lot of kisses and cuddles over the years.”

He added: “I think I’ve been in denial and a bit confused.

“I’ve always had a soft spot for Gemma, but I thought maybe we were just mates who had a bit of fun.

“The last few months things have changed.”

Arg will bare all for charity next week after learning the dance moves for The Full Monty to raise awareness for prostate cancer.
