BEN Hanlin has been dazzling unsuspecting celebrities with feats of mystique and illusion for the past five years.

Now he's taking on a greater challenge by taking part in Dancing On Ice 2020. Here's everything you need to know...

Who is Ben Hanlin?

Ben Hanlin, 33, is a British magician and television presenter from Birmingham.

Prior to becoming a full-time magician, Ben worked as a recruitment consultant and he also does stints working as a radio presenter on Capital Radio in Birmingham.

Ben's first show, Breaking Magic, premiered in 2012 and fused street magic with the raw power of science.

He currently lives in South East London with his wife Briony and the couple have two children.

When will Ben Hanlin be on Dancing On Ice?

Ben will be performing live on the show for the first time tonight on ITV at 6pm.

The series will air on the channel at the same time every Sunday until the grand finale.

The first elimination is expect to take place in week two on Sunday January 12.

What has Ben said about Dancing On Ice?

In September 2019, Ben became the tenth celebrity revealed to be taking part in Dancing On Ice.

The famous magician will join a whopping number of 11 celebrities who are all competing for the winner's trophy, but first, they have to prove their talent on the ice rink.

Following the announcement by ITV, Ben gushed with excitement about his involvement as an ice skating contestant.

He explained: "Can I ice skate? Barely. But I did say to the producers 'if I’m going to do this, can I try to do magic on ice?'

"‘I will try and attempt to put magic into the show if I can. We start tomorrow! On the ice for the very first time."

Ben will be competing in the ITV reality show alongside 11 other celebrities - Michael Barrymore, Maura Higgins, Kevin Kilbane, Lucrezia Millarini, H from Steps, Lisa George, Perri Kiely, Libby Clegg MBE, Joe Swash, Caprice and Trisha Goddard.

What other shows has he done?

Before landing his big break, Ben Hanlin made cameos on a number of television shows, which included everything from The Xtra Factor in 2013 to Loose Women, Braking Magic and even Celebrity Juice.

Ben has also used his talent to take part in documentaries - he's starred in When Magic Goes Horribly Wrong, How Magic Changed TV and The Magic Show Story in 2015.

In 2013, however, Ben landed his ultimate big break as a presenter and magician on Tricked - a rather popular show which ran for a whopping four years before Ben would land himself a recurring role in Wedding Day Winners.

He's also appeared on morning shows Lorraine and This Morning.

What is the Magic Circle and how is Ben involved?

The Magic Circle is a British organisation, dedicated to promoting and advancing the art of magic.

The Circle was first founded in 1905 and now includes almost 1,500 members.

Applicants must qualify for membership, either through a performance exam or a written thesis on a branch of magic.

Ben is one of the youngest members of the Magic Circle having earned several awards before applying, including The Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2011.
