ZAYN in pain?

Zayn Malik looks miserable and keeps checking his phone as he’s spotted for the first time since split from Gigi Hadid

ZAYN Malik seemed a little downcast as she wandered around Miami Beach yesterday – just days after he announced his split from supermodel Gigi Hadid.

Despite being in one of the world’s biggest party destinations, the 25-year-old looked a tad down in the dumps as he puffed on a cigarette.

Balancing his fag in one hand, the star, whose relaxed poolside style of red chino shorts and a flash of his white undies, also appeared to be checking his mobile non-stop.

Zayn escaped to Miami last month to concentrate on writing new music, but it seems his getaway may have been tarnished by his recent break-up

The Sun exclusively revealed that the superstar couple had split earlier this week, before Zayn and Gigi, 22, confirmed the end of their relationship in separate statements on Twitter.

A source close to the couple told us: “Sadly Zayn and Gigi have separated.

“They have crazy work schedules that would put pressure on any relationship.”

Zayn later wrote: “Gigi and I have an incredibly meaningful, loving and fun relationship and I have a huge amount of respect and adoration for Gigi as a woman and a friend.

“She has such an incredible soul. I’m grateful to all of our fans for respecting this difficult decision and our privacy at this time. We love you all.”

Shortly afterwards, Gigi posted her own statement, which read: “Breakup statements often seem impersonal because there is really no way to put into words what two people experience together over a few years… not only in the relationship, but in life in general.
