American Idol contestant kissed by Katy Perry said it made him ‘uncomfortable’
Benjamin Glaze admitted it wasn't his teenage dream to kiss the pop star, instead he wanted his first kiss to be with 'someone special'
THE American Idol teen who got a surprise kiss from Katy Perry in his audition has revealed he didn't really like it.
Benjamin Glaze, 19, told the A list judging panel that he'd never kissed a girl before, prompting Katy, 33, to ask for a peck on the cheek. After Benjamin forgot to make a smooching sound, Katy asked Benjamin for a second, during which she turned her head at the last moment so that they kissed on the lips.
While it would be a dream situation for a lot of young men, Benjamin told the that he'd rather it hadn't happened.
He said: "I was a tad bit uncomfortable. I wanted to save it for my first relationship. I wanted it to be special.
"Would I have done it if she said, 'Would you kiss me?' No, I would have said no.
"I know a lot of guys would be like, 'Heck yeah!' But for me, I was raised in a conservative family and I was uncomfortable immediately. I wanted my first kiss to be special."

A nervous Benjamin began his audition with a grilling from judges Katy, Lionel Richie and country singer Luke Bryan.
Telling Katy what he did for a living, he explained: "I'm a cashier at an electronic store but I love it because sometimes there's cute girls and they're not going anywhere without saying hi."
When judge Luke asked hopeful Benjamin if he'd ever kissed a girl and liked it, the youngster replied: "I've never been in a relationship. I can't kiss a girl if I'm not in a relationship."
Katy beckoned him over to the panel before letting him plant a wet one on her cheek.
But it didn't satisfy the 33-year-old popstar who complained that Benjamin "didn't make the smooch sound."
On a repeat attempt, the poor lad fell to the floor in shock when Katy turned quickly and smacked a kiss right on his lips.
Co-stars Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan were in disbelief and dished out high-five's to the singer to celebrate.
