Piers Morgan tells Charlotte Hawkins she is ‘dead to him’ if she loses the ITV boat race against the BBC
PIERS Morgan has told his Good Morning Britain co-star Charlotte Hawkins she is “dead to him” if she loses the ITV boat race against the BBC.
Famous faces from the two channels will face off in Clash Of The Channels Boat Race for Sport Relief – and Piers is determined to win.
Charlotte is part of the ITV team who will be battling it out on the high seas of Salford Quays.
As they are going up against Piers’s arch enemies at the BBC, he is adamant that Charlotte can’t let him down
He spent most of GMB today ribbing her about the race and told her he will never speak to her again if she messes up.
After footage of Charlotte training on the river was played, Piers declared she wasn’t working hard enough.
Piers said: “You’re not doing anything… Start rowing!
“Never mind team work, just beat them if you lose to that lot at the BBC you’re dead to me.”
Charlotte explained: “It’s for a good cause… You wait for instructions – I’m poised, you’ve got to row in time… we wait for instructions.”
GMB co-star Susanna Reid then joked: “There are lots more motivational speeches to come.”
Sport Relief 2018 will air on BBC One on Friday, March 23.
In the lead-up to the show, a collective challenge to beat a billion steps a day will take place from 17 to 23 March, and the public are being called on to make their steps count.
Zoe Ball is taking part in a cycle challenge to raise mental health awareness after the death of her boyfriend last year left her with “lots of questions”.
Other events include Love Island’s Camilla Thurlow fighting TV presenter Helen Skelton in the boxing ring to raise money for the charity.
