Jeremy Clarkson blasts claims The Grand Tour won’t get another series – as he lines up new role on revamped Who Wants To Be A Millionaire
JEREMY Clarkson has blasted reports that The Grand Tour has been axed after just three series.
While series three is in the bag, the Mail On Sunday reported that the show would not be returning for a fourth instalment.
“No one has signed anything and employees are wondering where everyone will go once filming wraps.’”
The Grand Tour was one of Amazon’s biggest shows and has made £100million for the TV service over three years.
Grand Tour producer Andy Wilman who also worked on Top Gear said: “We are focusing on series three at the moment.”
Jeremy and his co-stars James May and Richard Hammond made a controversial move to Amazon when Jeremy's gig on Top Gear fell through on the BBC.
He was axed from the show after an "unprovoked physical attack" on crew member Oisin Tymon on the show.
Earlier this week The Sun exclusively revealed Jeremy landed another big TV role as the host of a re-vamped version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.
The "phone a friend" lifeline will be ditched and instead contestants will be forced to video call their mates on Skype.
Rebranded Ask a Friend, it will stop helpers being tempted to Google an answer away from the eyes of producers.
A source told The Sun: “The familiar lifelines Ask the Audience and 50:50 will remain but bosses have decided to bring Phone a Friend up to date.
“The option they’re looking at will see contestants Skype their mates. The risk of a pal using the internet to find out an answer is too great now, and with £1million in play bosses aren’t taking any chances.
“But they also want everyone to be involved, even your nan who might not have Skype, so are trying to work out how to do that."
