NOEL Gallagher has stirred up a storm in Hull after he described the city as a “s***hole.”
He let fly during a concert in Texas after a group of fans from Hull who were on a stag do started chanting about their hometown.
Noel, 50, performing with his band High Flying Birds at Austin’s Moody Theatre, said: “For f***’s sake. Where are you from? From Hull? How the f*** can you afford to be in America from Hull?
“Did you f****** rob your gran’s house or something?
“Don’t want to be miserable right, but it’s a f***ing s***hole.
“The best thing about it is a bridge. All they’ve got is a f***ing bridge. It’s s***. No offence.”
Mancunian Noel was yesterday berated by proud citizens of Hull, the 2017 City of Culture.
Labour Mayoral candidate George Aylett said: “The place where the Civil War began, where William Wilberforce was born and which was City of Culture is certainly not a s******e.”
Noel and his High Flying Birds are set to play Yorkshire’s Scarborough Open Air Theatre on June 6 – an hour and a half’s drive from Hull city centre.
Noel’s brother Liam last week ramped up the pair’s long-running feud.
He laid into Noel and wife Sara — comparing them to serial killers Fred and Rose West.
Liam ranted about Sara, blaming her for wrecking an Oasis reunion.
He said: “We were about to go on tour to USA.
“She robbed Noel’s passport f****d with his head for a week.
“He come crying at my door. She’s proper dark.”
FORMER Apprentice winner Michelle Dewberry led the charge as Hull hit back at Noel.
Michelle, who stood as an independent candidate for the city in the general election, said: “Noel is completely wrong — Hull is a nice place with beautiful things in it and decent people.
“I’d invite him to come out with me before he knocks it. The people of Hull are angry but we’re tough.
“We’re the salt of the earth and we stick up for each other.”
Michelle, right, also took a swipe at Noel over his feud with brother Liam.
She added: “In Hull we’re nice and kind and we don’t fall out with our brothers. He should come and play a gig here. He can bring Liam.”
