Who is Michael Fassbender, and when did he marry Alicia Vikander?

Michael Fassbender is born in Heidelberg, Baden-Württemberg, West Germany, 2 April 1977 - that makes him 40.

His mum, Adele, is Irish, while is father, Josef, is German.

Michael's parents moved to the Irish town of Killarney, County Kerry,when he was two years old. The family made the move because Michael's parents wanted their children to grow up in the countryside rather than the industrial backdrop of their previous residence in Germany.

Michael can speak fluent German.

He decided that he wanted to be an actor at age 17 when he was cast in a play by Donal Courtney.

At the age of 19, Michael moved to London to study at the Drama Centre London. However, he later dropped out to go on tour with the Oxford Stage Company to perform the play Three Sisters.

Before hitting the big time, Michael worked as a bartender, postman and labourer. He has even worked for the Royal Mail and Dell computers.

Michael married Swedish actress Alicia Vikander, whom he met on the set of The Light Between Oceans, in a private ceremony on 14 October 2017 in Ibiza, Spain. The pair had been dating since December 2014.

They currently live together in Lisbon, Portugal.
