Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock have Practical Magic reunion on Oscars 2018 red carpet
Sandra and Nicole joined forces for a quick chat on the carpet after Nicole surprised her former co-star during an interview.
NICOLE Kidman and Sandra Bullock brought joy to hundreds of fans on the Oscars red carpet with a surprise Practical Magic reunion.
The pair, who appeared in the cult favourite back in 1998, joined forces for a chat on the ABC red carpet this evening, 20 years after they played magical sisters.
Without looking like they aged a day, Nicole and Sandra were seen giggling like no time had passed at all as Nicole made a surprise drop in on Sandra’s chat.
Sandra then mocked the moment and said: “She’s doing it again, Nicole Kidman always butts into my stuff. Say it again, say ‘topple over’ again.”
The duo then reminisced on their film together and the drunken nights they have shared together because of it.
Sandra revealed: “We were talking about when we shot [Practical Magic] together and we asked her to get the tequila, she came back with her own tequila but we drank it anyway. We were a little drunk.”
“I love that movie. I showed that movie to my kids,” revealed Nicole.
“It’s a little above their [level of understanding]… But we’re really good sisters.”
In the 20 years since Practical Magic was released, the pair have gone on to win a series of awards – with Sandra taking home her own Oscar in 2010 for her Leading Actress role in The Blind Side.
Nicole was clearly in a cheeky mood this evening, as she also surprised a host of tourists ahead of her appearance on route to the show.
The Shape of Water won the biggest gong of the night tonight as they bagged Best Film in the final award of the night.
While Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri was the expected winner of the gong, the film still took home some of the biggest awards of the evening including Sam Rockwell for Best Supporting Actor, and Frances McDormand for Best Leading Actress.
As she accepted her award, Frances took the moment to celebrate women who were nominated, and in a bold statement in the midst of the Time’s Up movement, invited all female nominees to stand in solidarity with her during her speech.
The British also won big during the evening – with WWII epics Dunkirk and The Darkest Hour both bringing home a number of gongs.
After decades in the industry, Gary Oldman finally achieved his first Oscar for his portrayal of Winston Churchill in The Darkest Hour.
Ex Holly0aks actress Rachel Shenton also won her first ever Academy Award for her Live Action short film The Silent Child, and she gave her acceptance speech in sign language.
Jennifer Lawrence has been having the time of her life at this year’s Oscars.
Earlier in the evening, she was spotted climbing over chairs while holding onto a glass of wine.
Jimmy has returned to host the swanky awards ceremony for a second year and wowed the audience in the Dolby Theatre and at home with his opening monologue.
For many, as well as the night’s big winners, it was all about the fashion.
Gal Gadot and Margot Robbie topped the best dressed lists with their glamorous gowns.
But not everyone hit the spot with their style choices and Salma Hayek and Nicole Kidman were panned by the fashion pack.
For those not invited to the swanky ceremony, there were plenty of parties going on and some of the biggest names in showbiz flocked to them throughout the night.
Nicole Scherzinger and Heidi Klum led the way at Elton John’s bash.
While Isla Fisher and Olivia Munn showed off their classic Hollywood style at the Vanity Fair Oscars bash.
