Dancing on Ice’s Jake Quickenden in tears as he wins the first perfect score of the series with emotional performance dedicated to his late father and brother
The singer performed his emotional skate in tribute to his late dad and brother and won four tens from the judges in the process
JAKE Quickenden redeemed himself on Dancing on Ice with his second routine tonight winning the first perfect score and a standing ovation from the judges.
The singer performed his emotional skate in tribute to his late dad and brother and won four tens from the judges in the process, even bringing head judge Christopher Dean to tears with it.
"Great skate your father and brother would be proud of you," said Chris as he broke down while giving his critique.
Jason Gardiner called it "sublime" and said: "I take my hat off to you mate."
Ashley Banjo added: "It was perfect, but it was your heart and soul."
It was a marked improvement on his first routine which saw viewers accuse the judges of favouritism after Jake was given 9.5 scores despite almost dropping his partner during his routine.
The former I'm A Celebrity and X Factor star was awarded 9.5 marks from Ashley Banjo, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean and an 8 from Jason Gardiner and fans of the show have hit out at the marks.
While skating, Jake messed up on a lift and almost dropped partner Vanessa Bauer, which fans say should have knocked his score down.
But when Christopher Dean told Jake that he "will" be in the final, fans were furious and branded the show a fix.
Jake himself tweeted his apologies to his fans, writing: "So sorry guys will try do better after had a little mess on the lift and wasn’t up for long enough xx"
But furious viewers also took to social media to question the scoring.
One wrote: "Looks like Jake has put too much pressure on himself. He didn't deserve 9.5's for that he nearly dropped her and then the rest of his performance was affected #DancingOnIce"
A second tweeted: "Judges' pets Jake and Kem both had dodgy first skates but scores don't reflect it at all!
"Fair play to Jason for sticking with his guns -very unfair of Christopher to say Jake is through to the final anyway! #Fix? #dancingonice"
A third added: "It’s another Ray situation - Jake messes up but it’s ok, because they’re all in awe of him, that it’s only worth 0.5 knocked off from 3 judges.
"Only @officialJasonG seeing sense #dancingonice"
"@dancingonice is a blatant fix if anyone else just Jake had nearly dropped their partner they'd have been slated," said another.
A fifth tweeted: "See they were already giving jake a ten before he even skated it’s a fix jason is so right #DancingOnIce."
