GOOD Morning Britain fans were left in stitches after watching presenter Katy Rickitt fall off a toboggan while sledging down a hill.

The journalist was reporting from snowy Edinburgh for the ITV show when she decided to ditch her microphone to make the most of the Arctic conditions - but ended up falling flat on her face live on air.

Turning to some children while sat on a toboggan, she said: ";Are we ready? Are you going to look after me?"

Handing her microphone to a person out of shot, she added: "I'm going to have to stop talking now and give this to my camera man. Because this is a hazard"

As she shouted "thanks for watching" the reporter whizzed down the white hill, screaming as she went.

However, she only made it half way before her toboggan got stuck and she fell off flat onto her face.

A few seconds later she had recovered from her tumble and was back on her way.

Back in the studio Kate Garraway could be heard joking: "She has wiped out half a dozen others!"

The whole segment was well-received by fans who were left in hysterics by her snowy accident.

Katy was in Edinburgh to report about the snowy conditions.

A red weather warning - the second in 24 hours - expired at 2am, but amber warnings for snow are still in place for much of Scotland, the North East of England, and parts of Northern Ireland.

The journalist herself shared a Tweet about her snowy day out.
