JOSEPH Tate is back to his old tricks again, and has recruited handyman Graham in his mission to take down Robert Sugden.

The troublesome businessman, played by Ned Porteous, has always been one with a scheme up his sleeve, and he unveiled his latest plan tonight to Graham.

Tonight, in the second of a double bill trip to the Dales, it was revealed that Joe has had Graham install a secret camera system at the Sugden’s scrap yard.

He then sinisterly mentioned that he wanted to find dirt on Robert as soon as possible, and that Graham was tasked with keeping an eye on the camera footage until something was found.

“Oh, don’t look so grim,” he told his henchman. “It won’t take long. Robert’s shady as hell, we’ll get something on him soon enough.”

“Then, we rip his precious little business, straight from underneath his nose,” he added.

Joseph is proving himself to be less than caring when it comes to the villagers – which was shown most clearly when he buys champagne for Jimmy King and Nicola to make him feel better for running over Laurel Thomas.

Laurel was rushed to hospital and got a sprained arm after Jimmy wasn’t looking where he was going and reversed straight into her.

It appears that while Joe is more than willing to keep running away with his plans, he may hit a snag – as Graham appears to be second-guessing his boss’s plans.

After another run in with Charity, Graham questioned Joseph’s relationship with his younger brother Noah, quizzing whether or not they should go after a mum “who’s just protecting her kid.”

The line of questioning clearly didn’t sit well with Joe, who shut him down within seconds.

“You think Noah needs protecting from me?” he darkly responded.

Emmerdale continues weekdays at 7pm on ITV1.
