Coronation Street’s Kate Connor desperately tries to save lesbian lover Rana Nazir after her parents insist she goes to Pakistan
Rana is unaware her parents have got her a one-way ticket as Kate does her best to stop her girlfriend heading to the airport
CORONATION Street's gripping Rana Nazir and Kate Connor forbidden lesbian relationship storyline will see Rana's parents try to trick her into taking a one way trip to Pakistan.
The nurse has been in turmoil after admitting her relationship to her devout Muslim parents and turning her back on husband Zeedan.
Now Kate is forced to try and rescue her girlfriend after Rana's parents buy her a one-way ticket to Pakistan.
Rana is seen with her mum as she arrives at her parents' house with suitcase in tow, thinking her trip to Pakistan is a chance to temporarily get away from her troubled personal life.
As she climbs into a cab Kate comes to the rescue shouting 'don't go, look at the ticket'. Hammering on the cab window she is joined by Zeedan who threatens to call the cops as he opens the door.
Rana realises its a one-way ticket and shouts abuse at her mum and dad who immediately disown her. Her brother helps and leads Rana away in tears and he in turn disowns his parents.
Earlier this month Rana was forced to confess to her lesbian affair, before Zeedan threatened to tell everyone in the religious community about it, leading her dad to force her to stay in the marriage for a year in exchange for money.
The businessman offered to fund Zeedan's business with regular cash payments to "preserve his family's honour".
After Kate revealed all to a furious Zeedan, Rana's life was turned upside down when he took revenge by outing her to her strictly religious parents.
Rana's parents turned up to her house giving Zeedan the perfect opportunity to hurt his unfaithful wife.
As he walked out with a tray of glasses and whiskey to the offended couple, his plan grew darker yet.
Zeedan hasn't taken his wife's affair with her best friend very well at all.
"We don't drink and neither do you," said Rana's mother.
"Well a lot of things have changed around here," he spat back.
"It'll be our secret, I won't tell anyone and we're good at keeping secrets, aren't we Rana?" he leered.
"Tell them," he demanded forcing his wife to reveal the truth.
