Happy Mondays’ Shaun Ryder has enema on TV in battle to look younger
Shaun Ryder is one of many celebrities hoping to reverse the ageing process in ITV show 100 Years Younger in 21 Days
AFTER years of holding down a rock and roll lifestyle, Shaun Ryder is cleaning up his act and having an enema on TV.
The Happy Mondays singer will undergo the procedure - which sees fluid injected and then expelled from the rectum - in a bid to appear younger.
Shaun will appear on ITV's latest lifestyle show 100 Years Younger in 21 Days which sees several celebrities attempt to reverse the ageing process through a number of shocking procedures.
As a consultant starts to insert the tube up Shaun's bum, she told him: "You've got a little haemorrhoid there."
Eye-watering scenes then show two-and-a-half litres of coffee put into him. The procedure stimulates the liver into producing glutathione - which is said to reduce wrinkles.
After the intrusive treatment, Shaun revealed: "It was quite a revelation. I'm really glad that I've been popped."
Speaking of his rockstar antics, Shaun explained: "I have hammered it partying around the world.
"I was on heroin, cigs and booze. It affects my lifestyle because I knackered a lot of the time."
The Manchester native added: "I've got two young daughters so I want to be as healthy as possible to enjoy my girls growing up.
"I've given up opiod, temazepam, valium, crack. I'll still have booze."
Part of the revealing show sees 55-year-old Shaun discover test results which suggest his brand and body resembled those of a 73-year-old.
Shaun was left angry at the results, ranting: "I want words with the b*****d that thinks I'm an old-age pensioner."
100 Years Younger in 21 Days also features Gogglebox star Sandra Martin and Loose Women panellist Sherrie Hewson.
