Who is Lottie James? Survival Of The Fittest lass who replaced Dani Dyer after her injury

LOTTIE James was drafted into the South African desert at the last minute to compete in Survival Of The Fittest.

ITV needed a replacement for Dani Dyer after she dislocated her shoulder early in the series, and Lottie was waiting in the wings. Here's her story...

Who is Lottie James?

22-year-old Lottie James is from Carmarthen, Wales.

She's a waitress and farmer and describes herself as "ditzy, wild and outgoing".

Lottie's biggest claim to date is that rugby player Gareth Davies is following her on Instagram.

She said prior to going into the lodge; "I am so honest so my honesty will be good. I think my flirtatious side will come out so that might make the boys’ games a little weaker.”

What else has Lottie James said about Survival Of The Fittest?

She also promises to give the boys a run for their money and is determined to prove that women are the stronger sex.

“Women are stepping the game up and we are on a similar line to men now,” she declared. “We are in with a good chance of winning!”

Lottie is on the lookout for “big, muscly, rugby-looking guys with dark hair” but is wary of cocky blokes and girls who lie.

Nervous about entering the show, Lottie added: “I can be a little bit sensitive but I am good at fighting off the sensitivity as well.

“I can be a bit nervous sometimes but when my personality shines and I get used to everyone, I’ll be fine.”

What happened to Dani Dyer and why did she pull out of the show?

Lottie was brought in as an emergency replacement for Danny Dyer’s daughter, Dani – who was forced to quit the show after the first task went disastrously awry.

Dani, 22, admitted she was gutted at having to pull out of the show after being rushed to hospital after injuring her shoulder on an obstacle course.

The aspiring actress revealed she would be rooting for the girls to win from her sofa.

“I can’t put into words how amazing it was so I am gutted I can’t do any challenges but I am rooting for the girls, all the way, we have to win. Especially now we have win, they have to do it for me,” she said.

What is Survival of The Fittest about?

Survival Of The Fittest sees a group of hot young singles sent to the South African Savannah to take part in the ultimate battle of the sexes, involving mental and physical challenges.

But the strength of the ladies and gents is not the only thing being tested.

Throughout the series, the contestants have the opportunity to romance the opposite sex - but only at the expense of their team's chances in the competition.

Will they choose dates over mates, and find themselves in bed with the enemy? You can count on it...

As with Love Island, viewers are able to vote off the contestants that don't quite tickle their fancy.

They are also responsible for choosing which of the sexes comes out on top.
