Survival Of The Fittest star Dani Dyer claims she didn’t want teammates to know about her dad Danny – despite her constant name dropping

DANI Dyer claimed she didn't want her Survival of the Fittest teammates to find out about her famous dad – despite repeatedly name dropping him in the show's first episode.

Viewers branded barmaid Dani the new Marcel Somerville after she repeatedly referred to Danny Dyer in the same way the Love Island hunk kept bringing up his time in Blazin’ Squad.

However, the EastEnders actor's daughter insisted that she "didn't want anyone to know" about her famous dad in order to feel equal amongst her fellow cast members.

In an interview before entering The Lodge she said: "I don’t want anyone to know.

“I haven’t had that since school with girls when they get a bit bitter and I’m hoping I don’t have it here either.

“This is a completely different opportunity for me. I want to be on the same level as everyone. Hopefully they don’t find out."

Dani, who was forced to leave the show after dislocating her shoulder while competing in the first challenge, refused to eat any carbs in preparation for her stint on the ITV2 series.

Speaking in South Africa she said: “I dieted so much in January and now all I want is prawn crackers.

“I have been training loads. I have always been quite active. I like to do body pump classes and spinning. I try to be Ariana Grande but it doesn’t work.

“Every girl wants to change something but there’s so much more food I wish I had eaten.”

And Dani’s male competitors will miss out on seeing her in action now that she’s set to be replaced by Lottie James, a waitress and farmer from Wales.

Survival Of The Fittest, hosted by Laura Whitmore, sees male and female teams face off in a battle of the sexes – and allows some romance – before the public decides who to axe.

The series, which started last night, has been dubbed the Winter Love Island and viewers were quick to point out the similarities.
