Kym Marsh pays tribute to her son Archie who died 9 years ago
KYM Marsh has paid a touching tribute to her son Archie on what would have been his ninth birthday.
The Coronation Street actress, 41, was left heartbroken in 2009 when Archie — her son with former partner Jamie Lomas — died just seconds after he was born at 21 weeks into the pregnancy.
Kym took took to her Instagram account on Sunday night to share a photo of her shrine to Archie, and she also posted a heart-wrenching message.
She wrote: "9 years ago today our lives changed forever. Our hearts will never heal and our tears will always fall because we miss you so much.
"I am so proud to have been your mummy. I wish we were having a party today with balloons and presents.
"I wish I had got to see your smile and hold your hand.
"I wish I could kiss your face and hug you tightly. I wish I had heard your voice. I wish I had been able to pick you up when you had fallen, put plasters on your knees, dry your tears.
"I wish I wish I wish you were here. You are always in our hearts my beautiful boy. Happy birthday. We miss you and love you so very much. Have fun up there today little one Mummy loves you "
Kym - who also mum to older children Emily and David and Polly, six, whom she shares with Lomas - previously told The Sun On Sunday how she was "utterly lost" by Archie's death.
She said last year: “After Archie died I was utterly lost.
"I never got to the point of thinking about taking my own life, but I don’t know how I might have felt if I hadn’t had two young children and a good support network around me."
She added: “When I lost Archie, all I could think was, ‘Why has this happened to me?’
"I had carried a baby for nearly six months and yet what did I have? What was the point in it all?
“Archie wasn’t even weighed, I don’t know why, and he didn’t have a birth certificate. All I had was a leaflet they gave me when I left hospital.
"It feels so pointless that you can’t stand it, and you do lose yourself.
“I didn’t want to go outside, I didn’t want to see anyone, I didn’t want to hear anyone laughing. How could anyone laugh when my son has died?
“I just wanted to stay hidden away forever. But you do learn to accept it and move forward.
“And I’m lucky to have three amazing kids. David and Emilie are grown up now and Polly is a little whirlwind and a delight.”
Over the weekend, Kym hosted a charity ball in memory of Archie, where she raised money for the Mariposa Trust.
The charity helps families deal with the pain and trauma of losing a baby at any stage of pregnancy, birth of infancy and relies solely on volunteers and donations to continue its works.
During an interview last week, Kym revealed that she underwent a procedure to make sure she can't have any more kids after deciding she doesn't want to become a mum again.
"I told [my doctor] I didn't want any more [children].
"I didn't want to go through the trauma again because there would never be any guarantee it would be fine.
