Kate Moss says she ‘felt like the bee’s knees’ when she lost her virginity aged 14 – days before she was scouted by modelling agent
KATE Moss has revealed she thought she was the "bee's knees" after losing her virginity aged 14 - just days before she was scouted by a modelling agent.
The British supermodel, now 44, was spotted at JFK airport in New York by Storm Models founder Sarah Doukas while smoking a cigarette in 1988.
In an interview with Love Magazine, she said: "I was 14 and I’d just lost my virginity. So I thought I was the bee’s knees.
"I was in the airport puffing away. I’d got on the plane and then Sarah’s brother came up to me and said 'Have you ever thought about being a model?'"
The mother-of-one admitted she had "never, never, never" considered a career in the industry due to her "skinny" appearance.
She said: "I was short, I had bow legs and crooked teeth and nobody thought I was the prettiest girl in the school."
Kate also admitted that she feels she was too young when she signed up with the agency - adding that she wouldn't let her daughter do it now.
She also said in the interview how she didn't believe she was good at modelling until recently.
And despite being on the cover of over 100 fashion magazines, Kate added that she doesn't like camera phones, describing them as a "love/hate thing".

A tell-all book published in 2014 claimed to reveal Kate had lost her virginity in her early teens, however, the Love Magazine interview is the first time she has publicly confirmed so.
Champagne Supernovas by Maureen Callaghan also told of the model's wild partying habits, including her large drug and alcohol consumption.
In 2014, she ranked as the 91st wealthiest celebrity on ’ rich list, with estimated earnings of over £7million a year.
