LOVE Island star Chris Hughes had such a fashion tantrum during filming for Comedy Central’s Your Face Or Mine that he held up filming by an hour.
He was also rude to girlfriend Olivia Attwood, 26 – describing her features as “rat-like” – but tried to pass it off as “banter”.
Chris, 25, only had a red bomber jacket to wear on the night, but producers told him it clashed with the show’s signature bright red sofa so he had to wear something else.
He promptly had a meltdown because he didn’t have anything else to wear.
A source close to Chris said: “Chris was wearing a red coat, but the sofa was red, production asked him to change his coat as to not clash, he was more than happy to do so.”
The drama meant that filming of the episode – which was hosted by comedians Jimmy Carr, 45, and Katherine Ryan, 34, – overran and held up the crew in central London studios on Tuesday evening.
Former Strictly pros Ola and James Jordan were due to film directly after them and their guest Olympic runner Iwan Thomas missed his train home.
The wacky comedy series sees competitors rate the looks of pairs of people to win a prize.
An on-set source said: “Chris was furious about not being warned about the colour-code and only had an old T-shirt on underneath his jacket and had a full-on tantrum with producers.
“He was also a bit bit brutal and harsh to Olivia in the game when rating her looks, branding her rat-like, but tried to pass it off as banter.”
The notoriously fiery couple are no strangers to drama – having numerous rows in public and breaking up several times on ITV2’s Love Island last series.
The tiff comes after Olivia previously admitted that she didn’t know if her relationship would last after the filming of her new ITV2 reality show with Chris Crackin’ On.

Speaking at the National Television Awards in London last month she admitted: “It’s full on fireworks. It’s going to be a rollercoaster, we argue hard. Our relationship was born on TV, so people should see it through to the end.”
Later in the evening the couple had a row which Olivia put down to booze. Speaking about the spat later she said: “Chris was upset that he didn’t see much of me in the evening but I was chatting to new people and taking in the night, so when he saw me he started shouting.
