Coronation Street fans convinced Jason Grimshaw will take down evil Pat Phelan
The builder is wanted by viewers to make a comeback to clock his step-dad over the head with something heavy and put an end to his reign of terror
CORONATION Street fans are clamouring for Jason Grimshaw to make a return to save his mum from killer Pat Phelan.
The builder - who was played by actor Ryan Thomas in the ITV soap until 2016 - is wanted by viewers to make a comeback to clock his step-dad over the head with something heavy and put an end to his reign of terror.
Unfortunately no matter what the fans want, Ryan won't be returning just yet.
He said: "It's so nice to be reminded that I've come from the cobbles, but if I look backwards, I'm not concentrating on my journey in front of me.
"That's why I left in the first place, for new experiences and new jobs.
"If I was to think about going back to Corrie, then I wouldn't be concentrating on what I left to do in the first place. Never say never, but it's not something that I'm thinking about right now."
Unfortunately Ryan also admitted that he rarely watches the show anymore and so only knows what is happening through his friendships with his former colleagues.
He added: "The only thing I know about it is that Sue Cleaver rang me and told me she'd been working really hard.
"It's so bad to say this, but I've not watched Corrie for so long now. The only time I watch it is at my mum's house, because she'll have it on.
"But I know that there's something going on with Phelan, because everyone keeps coming up to me asking, 'When are you going to come back and get rid of that Phelan?'

"So he's obviously doing something wrong, because people keep telling me to come back and sort him out.
"That's as much as I know about it at the moment as I've been so busy."
