Who is Keala Settle? The Bearded Lady star in The Greatest Showman and Oscar-nominated singer

KEALA Settle burst onto our screens as part of the cast of The Greatest Showman in 2017 - and now she looks set to bag an Oscar at the 2018 ceremony.

Who is Keala Settle?
Keala Settle is a 42-year-old actress and singer, originally from Hawaii.
She is of Maori descent and is the eldest of five children.
The star moved to Utah to study at university before developing her stage career.
As well as her musicals career, she has recently released her own EP, titled Chapter One, containing her original material.
She has since teased that she is working on a follow-up already, titled Chapter Two, on her social media pages.
What is The Greatest Showman about and who does Keala play?
The Greatest Showman tells the story of P.T. Barnhum (played by Hugh Jackman) as he launches a bid to start a circus.
Played out as a musical, the film follows the effects of his drive for success on his family, friends and the cast of the circus.
In the film, Keala plays Lettie Lutz - the iconic Bearded Lady of the show and Barnhum's first recruit.
She also leads the vocals in several of the main cast songs, including the Oscar-Nominated This is Me.
This is Me also won the Golden Globe for Best Original Song.
Other tracks include Come Alive and The Greatest Show.

What else has Keala been in?
Keala does not have many screen credits to her name - only appearing twice before in a film and a TV show.
She featured in one episode of The Big C, and played Sharon in the Meryl Streep led rocker flick, Ricki and the Flash.
Most of her biggest roles have been on the Broadway stage, making her debut in 2011 as Shirley in camp classic, Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.
She has also appeared as Madame Thernardier in Les Miserables, and led the cast in the original line-up of musical Hands on a Hardbody.
As well as Broadway, she has appeared in touring productions across the US, with appearances in films including Hairspray, A Christmas Carol and Violet..
