Uma Thurman receives standing ovation following claim that Harvey Weinstein sexually assaulted her
KILL Bill star Uma Thurman was cheered by theatregoers as she appeared Broadway just hours after she claimed shamed director Harvey Weinstein sexually assaulted her.
Uma, 47, went on stage to a rousing welcome after she alleged he had pounced on her at a London hotel and she had been forced to push him away describing herself as a "trapped animal".
Weinstein, who is currently in rehab after a series of lurid sex allegations against him by Hollywood stars, yesterday threatened court action.
Attorney Ben Brafman said: “Ms Thurman's statements.. are being carefully examined and investigated before deciding whether any legal action against her would be appropriate.”
Uma was given a standing ovation as she appeared in the play The Parisian Woman in New York and yesterday posted a picture on her Instagram account of St George killing the dragon. She captioned it by writing: “All in a days work.”
Other Hollywood stars praised Uma after she said Weinstein had done ''all kinds of unpleasant things'' in his suite at London's Savoy Hotel in 1994 after hit Pulp Fiction was released.
Big Little Lies star Reese Witherspoon, 41, was one of the highest-profile celebrities to respond to the shocking story.
Via Twitter, she said 'deeply upsetting. My heart goes out to @umathurman and all the women who have bravely told their stories about this awful predator.' Bette Midler, 72, also immediately tweeted a very forceful 'HERE IS UMA THURMAN'S TESTIMONY' to her 1.33million followers.
Asia Argento, 42, also posted a message of support, saying 'I love you, Uma Thurman,' before also adding a link to the story.
Uma told the New York Times that besides the London incident, Weinstein had pounced on her in Paris.
Brit cops are investigating two new claims from women who say they were sexually assaulted by the movie mogul in 2010 and 2011.
