KIM Cattrall has announced the death of her brother, hours after she asked her social media followers for help to find him.
The Sex And The City actress shared the heartbreaking news on Twitter that her younger brother Chris had "unexpectedly passed away".
She wrote: "It is with great sadness that myself and my family announce the unexpected passing of our son and brother, Chris Cattrall.
"At this time we ask for privacy. We want to thank you all on social media for your outpouring of love and support in this trying time."
Earlier, Kim appealed for help to find her brother after he went missing.
Sharing his picture online, 61-year-old Kim wrote: “This is my brother Christopher Cattrall or Chris as we call him.
“He has been missing since Tuesday, January the 30th from his home in Lacombe, Alberta Canada. His keys, cell phone,& wallet left on the table and his front door unlocked.
“This is not like Chris. He would never leave his unlocked home without those items nor his 7 beloved dogs.”
Kim went on to describe her brother’s stature and exactly what he would normally wear.
She ended the post by saying: “He’s a one of a kind brother. Help us bring him home safe. Please spread the world.
“Many thanks for reading this.”
Actress Kim wowed fans when she last appeared on TV in the UK during an interview with Piers Morgan on his Life Stories series.
Born in Liverpool, Kim, who played Samantha in SATC, moved to Canada as a child before making it big.
