Who is Josh Kinnaman?
Josh grew up in Stockholm and is half American. His father was drafted during the Vietnam War and deserted the military from his Bangkok base.
His career started out in the 90s, when he appeared in soap opera Storstad. He then took a break from acting until 2002, where he was in a thriller called The Invisible.
He went on to hire the same US agent who represents Johnny Depp, and appeared in thriller The Darkest Hour.
Other movies you may have seen him in include RoboCop, Suicide Squad and Edge of Winter.
Joel teased a Suicide Squad 2 in January 2018 when he uploaded a photo of him working out alongside his co-stars Jai Courtney and Jay Hernendez.
In 2014, he started dating Swedish tattoo artist Cleo Wattenström, and in 2016 he revealed they were married.
Who is Takeshi Kovacs in Altered Carbon?
Joel is playing the protagonist Takeshi Kovacs in Netflix drama Altered Carbon.
Takeshi is a native of the planet Harlan's World and was a gang member before signing up for the military.
He returned to criminal life after leaving the Envoy Corps and was eventually jailed, with his cortical "stack" being stored for decades at a time - and hired out to work dangerous jobs.

What is Altered Carbon about and when is it out on Netflix?
Altered Carbon is a cyberpunk science fiction novel set five hundred years in the future.
It centres on Joel Kinnaman’s character, who after 250 years on ice returns to life in a new body – a disgraced policeman.
Human personalities can be stored digitally and downloaded into new bodies, called sleeves, which is why he is known as Takeshi Kovacs’ sleeve.
He gets the chance to win his freedom by helping a highly influential aristocrat, played by James Purefoy, solve his murder.
The series is released on Netflix TODAY, February 2, 2018.
The official trailer was released a month before on January 11, 2018, adding to the hype surrounding the show.
The first series will consist of ten episodes.
