Amir Khan reunites with I’m A Celebrity campmates Jamie Lomas and Dennis Wise as Rebekah Vardy joking recreates press conference brawl
AMIR Khan reunited with three of his I’m a Celebrity camp mates today – just moments after he threw a glass of water over his next boxing opponent.
The 31-year-old took part in a press conference in Liverpool earlier today alongside Phil Lo Greco, who he will fight in April – his first match in five years.
But things got a little heated between the two men after Lo Greco made reference to his troubled personal life which saw Amir bizarrely accuse his wife Faryal of sleeping with fellow boxer Anthony Joshua last year.
His comments led Amir to throw a glass of water over his opponent but once the press conference was over, the boxer was all smiles again as he reunited with Jamie Lomas, Dennis Wise and Rebekah Vardy.
Amir even saw the funny side when cheeky Rebekah held up a glass of water and pretended to throw it at him as they all laughed for the cameras.
In one of the craziest gossip stories of 2017, the Watford IBF and WBA king was linked with Faryal Makhdoom during an angry Twitter rant from Amir, and Lo Greco could not wait up to revisit the tall tale today.
Lo Greco sparked the ugly row by referring to Khan’s last fight – a concussive defeat to Canelo Alvarez – and then his troubled personal life.
He said: “The defeat by Canelo started a losing streak – then he lost his family, his wife and then he posted on Twitter telling the world heavyweight champion he could have his leftovers.”
That pushed mild-mannered Khan over the edge and he suddenly soaked his rival.
Amir later apologised – as did Lo Greco – but the drama just added to the anticipation for the match on April 21.
Amir publicly accused Faryal of cheating on him last year as the pair endured a bitter split.
But they are now back together and expecting their second child together later this year.
Former unified light-welterweight ruler Khan is determined to get back on the road to world title glory in his first fight of a three-fight deal with Matchroom Boxing.
He has not fought in the UK since beating Julio Diaz in Sheffield back in 2013.
