Coronation Street viewers’ horror at chilling moment David Platt meets his rapist Josh Tucker
Hairdresser David will be at the centre of one of Corrie's most controversial storylines when Josh attacks him
CORONATION Street fans couldn’t hide their horror as David Platt came face to face with his rapist Josh Tucker in tonight’s episode.
The mechanic - who is played by actor Ryan Clayton in the ITV soap - arrived on the cobbles on Friday and is now busy organising a charity boxing match in memory of Luke Britton.
Viewers were horrified when he cosied up to David in the Rovers during tonight's episode.
It was previously revealed how hairdresser David - who is played by actor Jack P. Shepherd in the ITV soap - will be left devastated after he is drugged and assaulted in the hard-hitting storyline.
He will be seen enjoying a drunken night out with personal trainer and mechanic Josh before being attacked.
Viewers will be spared any explicit scenes and instead the story will show David wake up in Josh's bed and realise the horror of what happened to him.
Viewers pleaded with him to stay away, with one warning him: “That Josh is up to no good.
Another fan commented: “Those Josh and David scenes were more than a bit uncomfortabe.”
A third said: “Feels awful watching scenes with Josh and David when you know what's gonna happen soon.”
The story will focus on how David copes with the assault and his guilt and shame over it.”
A source told the : "There won’t be any sexually explicit scenes, what has happened to David will be implied by his reaction and behaviour when he wakes up the next day and starts to remember some of what happened.
“With Josh still on the street, David struggles to deal with the shame of what has happened to him. This is a big storyline for Jack and everyone is determined to get it right.”
It is the first time in Coronation Street's 57-year-history that a male rape has been covered on-screen.

The soap is working closely with Survivors Manchester to ensure the serious subject is tackled sensitively and accurately.
A recent report revealed that more than 12,000 men are raped each year in the UK, with more than 70,000 sexually abused or assaulted.
It comes after Hollyoaks is re-tackling the aftermath of UK soap's first male rape storyline as Luke Morgan's rapist has returned to the village nearly two decades after the attack.
Executive producer Bryan Kirkwood claimed he had tried to cover a male rape storyline on EastEnders but was stopped by the BBC.
