S Club 7’s Paul Cattermole forced to put Brit Award back up on eBay after £65k bidder fails to pay
Singer was seething that the person had wasted his time
S Club 7 star Paul Cattermole has been forced to put his BRIT Award back up for sale on Ebay after the bloke who promised him £65,000 for the gong failed to pay him.
The singer was mutinous about the snub and told his fans the guy was a “total time waster”.
Posting more pictures of the coveted gong on Ebay, Paul added: “He Just wanted to wreck my sale.
“Grab yourself a bargain! Everyone thinks it’s sold!”
The bids for the award stood in the past hour at just over £17,000 – with 38 people vying to win the statuette.
He won the award at the ceremony in 200 when he bagged the gong for Best Newcomer.
In the blurb, Paul tried to deter the same thing happening again and warned: “No time wasters please.”
He told NME: “I know the guy – he’s a fan; I’ve seen his name on social media.”
After putting his award up for sale, Paul was inundated with messages and said he spent “40-50 hours” answering them.
He said: “A lot of people have been saying to me: ‘Fair play to you, mate, sorry to hear you’re having difficult financial times.’
“I expected it to go for anything five to 10 [thousand]. I’ll be honest, if it had gone for that, I would have been happy. It just started going crazy.”
He’s likely to be inundated with messages again now the award is back online.
He’s now working on a music comeback and in his interview with NME explained: “I’ve always wanted to record a covers album.
“I know it’s a cliché to do it, but the reason people do it is that they sell. It is something that does sell in the music industry these days.
“I’ve actually always wanted to do a Motown album.
“Polydor bought the Motown back catalogue at the end of the ‘90s and they were our label, so I should ask if I can record some of them.”
