Ed Sheeran adds two more Grammys to his collection but didn’t make it to the ceremony
ED Sheeran scooped two Grammy Awards at last night's ceremony in New York, but he wasn't on hand to collect them.
The Shape Of You singer, 26, won the Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Solo Performance to take his Grammys tally to four.
Despite his success, Ed didn't attend the ceremony, leaving fans confused as to his whereabouts.
Where was Ed Sheeran that was more important than this for him. And why didn’t Justin beiber perform on despacito.
"I don’t understand. Please where is Ed Sheeran?
"Where the hell was @edsheeran at tonight? Why would he not attend The #Grammys? 🤔
"They wrote on Twitter: "Ed Sheeran is a no-show. He should change his name to Ed Disappearin’
#GRAMMYs."
He posted a picture of his cat doing a dab along with the caption: "Woke up to the news I won two grammys last night. Thank you ! This little fluff-ball is doing a bit of a celebratory dance, lots of love to everyone xx"
The Sun Online has contacted a representative for Ed for comment.
Its been a dramatic start to 2018 for Ed with his awards win coming shortly after an Icelandic newspaper printed a picture of the star in its obituary section leading some to worry the singer had died.
News outlet Morgunbladid printed his picture next to an obituary for an 82-year-old mechanic who worked for Swedish car giant Volvo.
The mistake likely came as a shock to the ginger crooner’s legion of fans in the music-loving Nordic nation.
And it wasn't the first time Ed has suffered an Iceland-related accident.
The chart-topping sensation revealed on the Big Top 40 radio show that he had to have skin grafts on his foot after stepping into a geyser while in the country last year.
He said: “I put my foot in a boiling geyser, like a boiling pool on top of a mountain, by mistake.
“It melted all the skin off my foot and then they had to put a skin graft on it. This was on my 25th birthday.
“They were like, 'Don’t walk over there!' And I was like, 'Why?' Then I just slipped.”
Despite news of his demise, the pop dynamo's life and career are thriving.
Last month, the Suffolk-born singer announced that he and partner Cherry Seaborn are engaged to be married.
Ed says that he’ll stop making music in order to be a “good father".
He said: “My ambition is going to go to zero as soon as I have kids.
"I am going to be like, 'I do not really care anymore as I have another life to take care of'.
"It is totally understandable because you have children and your ambition shifts to be like, 'I want to be a good father'."
