James Corden punched in the face during hilarious Carpool Karaoke skit with Sting and Shaggy
Grammys host had his fans in hysterics with his one-off special of the much loved Late Show segment
JAMES Corden was punched in the face by an angry New York builder during a Carpool Karaoke skit during the Grammys.
The fictional video saw the ceremony’s host joined by Sting and Shaggy as they took the popular Late Show segment onto public transport in New York.

Standing in the subway, dad-of-three James explained: “When we’re in Los Angeles we do karaoke the carpool lane.
“But here in New York they do things a little differently.
“That’s why I’m here with Sting and Shaggy to put a little spin on Carpool Karaoke.
“This is Subway Carpool Karaoke.”

The trio jump onto a carriage with their hoods pulled low over their faces.
James, Sting and Shaggy then reveal their faces and launch into a performance of Every Breath You Take.
The angry construction worker shouts: “Hey, fellas! Knock it off!
“You’re annoying everyone on the train!”

James hit back: “No we’re doing a carpool karaoke special in New York,” to which the disgruntled man told him: “I don’t care, shut the f**k up!”
The skit had fans at home in hysterics as they moved away from the “scary man” and started to belt out Shaggy’s hit song It Wasn’t Me.
The group are then accused of begging and of ruining an old woman’s trip out with their non-stop singing.

As they protest, the builder gets up and threatens James.
When the funnyman starts to fight back, the bloke punches him in the face – leaving James with a bloodied nose.

Viewers adored the sketch, with one tweeting: “JAMES CORDEN DOING CARPOOL KARAOKE WITH STING ON THE SUBWAY HAHAHA.”
Another said: “I died at his ‘It wasn't me’ in the subway carpool karaoke bit.”
James’ parents joined him at the star-studded event and took part in another comedy sketch – joking they’d watched the hit musical Hamilton rather than him.
