Love Island’s Amber Davies holds talks with Coronation Street casting bosses for potential soap role
The Love Island star's mini-audition in Manchester last week went 'very well', sources say
AMBER DAVIES’ love life could easily be mistaken for a soap opera storyline.
Therefore the Love Island winner has the perfect grounding to become soap star in her own right, as I can reveal the wannabe actress has held secret talks with Coronation Street’s casting bosses.
The reality favourite was spotted at the show’s Manchester studios last week getting to know the team and discussing a potential new role — with sources saying the discussions went “very well”.
A TV insider said: “Amber had a secret meeting with the casting director on Corrie last week and things were looking promising.
“Her acting agent had set up the discussion and she came away from the mini-audition full of confidence and bosses certainly liked her.
“She’s been determined to get into acting ever since winning Love Island so it felt like a positive move.”
Amber was tipped for success after her triumph on the reality show with ex-boyfriend KEM CETINAY, who is currently appearing on Dancing on Ice and this week landed a gig hosting footage from the red carpet at the National Television Awards.
But the couple split just 132 days after the Love Island final, and their relationship has become increasingly frosty.
And she suffered a fresh blow this week when she was forced to come out and deny any involvement in drug-taking, after she accidentally posted a photograph online which saw her posing next to mysterious white powder, and a rolled banknote.
Amber, who had headed back to a hotel room with friends following Tuesday night’s NTAs, insisted she had no idea what the items were and said: “I have never and would never take drugs, or knowingly be around people who do.
“That is not who I am. I’m fully aware that my supporters look up to me and the last thing I want is for people to think this is the type of thing I’d do.”
Emily Bishop certainly wouldn’t stand for any drug nonsense.
I'm living life to the Max
JAKE WOOD feared Max Branning’s days on Albert Square were numbered after his character was responsible for the death of his daughters.
The EastEnders actor thought fans would never forgive him for the shock scenes at Christmas but bosses have confirmed his future on the soap is secure.
And producer John Yorke is keen to place him at the centre of the action again.
In an exclusive interview, Jake said: “Max is central to the plans for the next year. He’s a delight to play. I love playing him.
“I never know what he’s going to do next so I am as excited as everyone else to see what’s planned.
“It’s been an up and down time for EastEnders but we’re hitting a real peak at the moment and with John back in charge that will continue.”
Bizbit
DANCING On Ice had eight million viewers for its first episode, instantly earning a new series next year.
ITV bigwig Siobhan Greene said: “The show’s welcome back exceeded expectations. The recommission is a no-brainer.”
Gem loses sparkle
TOWIE Queen GEMMA COLLINS got a major make-under last night – stripping back her bright colours and big hair for a reality show.
After signing up for Celebrity 100 Per Cent Hotter, on Channel 5, Gemma called herself Essex’s answer to DOLLY PARTON.
She said: “Everyone in Essex wears bling.
"If you’re not wearing bling, you can’t come in.”
Stylists on the show ditched Gemma’s glitter and sparkles for a tweed trouser suit and toned-down make-up, left.
But I can’t help but think they’ve made a woman with a sensational personality look a little bland.
Which just goes to show, you can’t improve on perfection.

Ward's Hollywood ambition
SHAYNE WARD’s goal is to swap cobbles for Holly-wood’s walk of fame.
The former X Factor winner, who will quit the ITV soap this year in an explosive storyline, is lining up interviews in Tinseltown.
In an exclusive interview Shayne said: “I’m hoping films could be next.
“I’ve always wanted to go to Hollywood.”
A source close to the star, who plays Aidan Connor, said: “He will audition for film roles in LA, it’s something that has always been an ambition.
