James and Ola Jordan postpone dance tour together after he suffers injury in rehearsals
The former Strictly Come Dancing couple, who have been dancing together for nearly two decades, have suffered a major setback
JAMES and Ola Jordan have been left devastated after having to postpone their long awaited tour - after James had surgery for a serious injury.
The ex-Strictly Come Dancing stars revealed the news in a statement saying they were "hugely saddened" to disappoint fans.
The couple, who have danced together for nearly two decades, were gutted to postpone their tour, which was scheduled to begin in March.
Ola, 35, and James, 39, said: "We are devastated that James' operation has caused us to postpone our tour as we were both so excited to dance together again for you all.
"We are so sorry to be letting so many people down, not only those who purchased tickets but all the cast and people that have helped work on the show to create something special.
"We hope you understand that health always comes first and hope for your continuous support in any of our future endeavours."
This evening James took to Instagram to explain how he had to undergo surgery for his injury but it hadn't healed in time.
Posting a snap of him and Ola, he wrote: "I can’t believe I’m writing this and it breaks my heart.... but unfortunately myself and @olajordan have to postpone our tour.
"Whilst putting choreography together for the tour, I suffered a double inguinal hernia which I had to have an operation on. I thought I would recover in time to do the tour but I’m still not right.
"My surgeon has strongly recommended we postpone the tour so I can make full recovery and not risk any long term damage.
"This was the hardest decision I have ever had to make in my career especially because we were so excited to dance together again.
"Everyone has been so understanding and we have had so many kind messages already which means a lot.
"I feel terrible I have let so many people down especially the amazing cast of dancers we had lined up from all round the world. I can’t even begin to tell you how fantastic they are, totally blew my mind.
"I believe everything happens for a reason although I don’t know what that reason is yet..... All of you who bought tickets, firstly thank you for your support.
"I have been told you will receive a full refund and again I’m sorry for the inconvenience.
"Not much more to say except I will make a full recovery and this is a small thing compared to what some people are going through in the world.
"I will come back better and stronger and please continue to support us both in any of our future endeavours BIG LOVE 💕 James xxx".
The couple, who have been married since 2003, were due to open their tour in Blackpool on March 3, and travel around the UK for a month.

They announced their tour last year, revealing that they would be telling their love story through dance – exactly 18 years to the month after they first met.
Ola has previously spoken to about her long-lasting marriage, saying: "Because we danced together and spent so much time together, we grew closer and fell in love, and then when we didn't spend time together, we missed each other.
"We just wanted to spend more and more time together and I think that's what made us be together. We've always liked each other's company."
