The presenting pair – who managed a record-breaking 16th win in the category last year – will face stiff competition from Holly Willoughby, Phillip Schofield and Bradley Walsh at the ceremony, and could get their hands on four gongs in total on the night.

The duo’s show ‘Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway’ is up for the newly-named Sir Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award – a nod to the late TV legend, who passed away in August 2017 aged 89 – alongside ‘The Graham Norton Show’, ‘Celebrity Juice’ and ‘All Round to Mrs. Brown’s’.

Ant and Dec could also taste success in two other categories for shows they present as ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ is up against ‘The Great British Bake Off’, ‘MasterChef’ and ‘Love Island’ for best Challenge Show, and ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ has a nod in the Talent Show category.

The programme will do battle with rivals ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, ‘The Voice’ and ‘The X Factor’.
