JOHNNY Carter's exit has been revealed in EastEnders - and he's moving to Manchester.
The law graduate - who is played by actor Ted Reilly in the BBC soap - will depart Albert Square after landing a training contract to become a solicitor in the northern city.
He broke the news to his family as his dad Mick finally returned to the Square after two weeks spent recovering from a gunshot wound received in the heist.
"I've got a training contract," Johnny told his parents to their shock.
The Sun Online exclusively revealed how actor Ted Reilly - who has played Johnny Carter in the BBC soap since 2016 - would leave the show last month.
A BBC spokeswoman confirmed: "We can confirm Ted has finished filming with EastEnders and wish him all the best for the future.”
Ted took over the role of Johnny in 2016 when writers decided to bring the character back after a 14 month absence.
Since returning he had a one night stand with Ben Mitchell, was shot by neighbour Ted before the ambulance taking him to hospital crashed leaving him fighting for his life.
There was speculation over Ted's future on the show when he signed up to appear in a play in January.
However now his exit has been confirmed.
Actor Sam Strike originally played the high profile role before quitting in 2014 to move to Hollywood.
