Ryan Thomas reveals ‘scars’ as he goes topless in first look at his Neighbours role as a British tourist looking for revenge

FORMER Coronation Street hunk Ryan Thomas has given fans a first glimpse of his new mysterious role in Neighbours.

The Manchester-born star plays British tourist Rafael Humphreys, and the first pictures show him topless with his back covered in scars.

Ryan’s character arrives on Ramsay Street with a score to settle, but his plans get complicated when he falls for one of the locals.

It’s thought his injuries are a major clue to his backstory.

He makes his first appearance in the soap in a special late-night episode next month.

Ryan, 33, relocated to Australia at the end of last year, which reportedly put a strain on his relationship with former TOWIE star Lucy Mecklenburgh, 26.

But the pair were pictured celebrating New Year’s Eve together with Ryan’s family, and Lucy has already been out to visit her boyfriend in Melbourne.

They got together last year after they both took part in Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls, and went public with their romance in July.

Ryan is already dad to eight-year-old Scarlett, who he shares with ex-girlfriend and former Coronation Street star Tina O’Brien.

Scott played mechanic Jason Grimshaw in the soap for 15 years in his native Manchester.

Ryan is one of a trio of famous siblings.

His younger twin brothers are both familiar faces on TV, with Adam playing Adam Barton in Emmerdale and Scott having taken part in the 2016 series of Love Island.

It’s thought he’ll be on screen in Neighbours for several weeks in a special storyline.
