Speaking to the Danny said: "I think you just have to get in that mindset.

"I've got a little niece Kaitlin, eight, but she's more like a little sister. I always try and imagine what it was like having her go through these things, whether that’s being bullied at school if she was bullying someone or taking drugs or something like that.

"I always put myself in the position that if that was me, or my son, or my little brother, or whatever.

"The person going through it, how would they be in it."

In a post on Twitter, the actor said the gesture had been previously planned and was intended to signal Keith to "get off the stage."

He wrote: "Ha! FINALLY get why people think I was being rude this morning.

"THAT ✊🏼 was ‘get off the stage Keith’ & you’ll find THAT was part of the script & the show.

"THAT was the idea of Keith being on the show.

"Popping up everywhere? Wow people! I ❤️ @lemontwittor so chill 😂😂. "

Keith agreed, tweeting Danny: "Love you too mate! Lot of fuss over nothing. Great seeing you!"
