Donna Air says Meghan Markle is ‘very nice’ after meeting her at Pippa Middleton’s wedding
DANCING On Ice contestant Donna Air has shared her thoughts on Prince Harry's fiance, Meghan Markle.
Donna met the actress when she attended Pippa Middleton's wedding last year, and told Hello magazine "she seems very nice," adding "Everyone loves a royal wedding!"
Donna, 38, has royal connections after having been in a four-year on/off relationship with James Middleton, the younger brother of Kate and Pippa.
They were last seen publicly when they attended Pippa's wedding to James Matthews in May 2017, but reportedly split soon after.
They recently sparked rumours of a reconciliation when James, 30, was seen clapping and cheering Donna on in the audience of Dancing On Ice.
A friend previously told the Daily Mail: "They broke up some time ago. They managed to keep it quiet."
Donna has been accused of "poshing up" on the show and losing her native Newcastle twang, before it mysteriously returned this weekend.
But a source told The Sun: "It's very odd that Donna would go from super-posh one minute to more like she was back on Byker Grove the next.
"Maybe she's aware fellow Newcastle lasses, like Cheryl and Vicky Pattison, have done very well on reality TV show."
Speaking about taking part in the show, Donna told Hello she wanted to be a good role model to her 14-year-old daughter Freya.
Donna said: "Life is about experiences, and if you get the chance to do something you should grab it. The reason you don't do things, quite often, is fear.
"I want to teach her to be brave. It's OK to fail. What it's no OK to do is not try, and to be scared... you have to lead by example."
James has publicly declared his love for Donna – who started her career in Byker Grove - in the past, and admitted he would be keen to have children one day.
He said: "We are thinking about where we are going next.

"I love Donna very much. Marriage is absolutely not something I'm scared of but it isn't necessarily the be-all and end-all.
"We are quite purposeful, forward-thinking people, so we needed wind in our sails in order to progress.
"She makes me very happy [and] I think I make her very happy. I want children. I've said that before. I will have children, but you'll have to wait."
