BELLA Thorne has undergone a drastic makeover – swapping her trademark red locks for a jet black ‘do.
The actress, 20, debuted her new look at the
Bella teamed her new darker do with a short, white dress and knee-high black boots.
She accentuated her new hair colouring with metallic purple lipstick.
Although Bella is known for her auburn hair, she’s actually a natural blonde and only became a redhead for a movie role.
She has previously revealed: “A lot of people don’t know I’m not actually a redhead. I’m a blonde. I dyed it for Big Love.
“It started off more of a deep red, and Disney was like, Why don’t we take Bella all the way to blonde again?’ I don’t know why, but I had a breakdown and so overreacted. I wanted to go back to red.”
Bella is currently filming her TV show Famous In Love, which follows her wannabe actress character Paige Townsen who is forced to navigate the highs and low of celebrity life.
In the show, Paige lands a role in a blockbuster film called Locked.
Of the part, Bella said: “It’s actually more of a challenge than some of the other roles I’ve played because I have to be a little bit more naive to everything, and that’s really hard when you’re jaded, which is what we will see Paige become.
“She gets screwed over so many times in the series that she becomes a little bit more guarded. She’s never had this experience before. “It’s really fun to play somebody that’s really not very much like me, at all.”
Bella – who rose to fame on Disney’s Shake It Out – recently revealed she was sexually abused until she was 14.
She wrote on Instagram: “I was sexually abused and physically growing up from the day I can remember till I was 14..when I finally had the courage to lock my door at night and sit by it. All damn night.
“Waiting for someone to take advantage of my life again. Over and over I waited for it to stop and finally it did. But some of us aren’t as lucky to get out alive. Please today stand up for every soul Mistreated. #timesup.”
