The Lyell Centre team face the bureaucracy of the FBI this week following the murder of a US diplomat in London.

Cue plenty of debate about diplomatic immunity, jurisdictions and the like.

The victim is hit by a motorbike and then shot, before being placed upright on a nearby bench with his hand tucked inside his jacket.

And things only get stranger from thereon in. Meanwhile, Nikki’s (Emilia Fox, left) love life merges with the investigation as she flirts with the US Chief of Mission Matt (Michael Landes, right).

There’s a delightful montage of Nikki trying on outfits to a Blondie soundtrack, which offsets the murder nicely.

Next Of Kin, 9pm, ITV

With Mona (Archie Panjabi, left) having survived the rooftop shooting in Pakistan, she returns home to England with Kareem’s body.

But, despite strong protests from Guy, her mission to help her nephew Danny is far from over and very much to the detriment of her own family.

Will she come to regret her actions?

The final part of this series explores the complex world of clinical trials.

A perfusion machine is used in an attempt to rejuvenate a donor liver that would ordinarily be rejected, and a new treatment for prostate cancer involves triggering a genetically modified virus to attack and destroy cancer cells.

A staggering insight into medical science.

Darill (left), 36, has jetted off to Italy to meet 26-year-old single mum Millie (right), and he’s well-equipped for his trip with show-stopping shades, stylish satchel and a six-pack to match.

But disappointingly, it’s a case of ‘all the gear but no idea’ as he makes a terrible dating faux pas.

We blame Fred Sirieix for not explaining the rules on what you can and, more importantly, what you can’t say on a first date.
