EASTENDERS viewers were left confused after tonight's episode as Abi Branning's baby girl seemed to disappear.
The character gave birth to her first child over the Christmas and New Year episodes despite being brain dead after falling from the roof of the Queen Vic.
Her dad Max was on hand to receive the baby in the operating room, but since then, there has been no sign and very little mention of the child.
In tonight's episode, Max and his elder daughter Lauren - who survived the fall on Christmas Day which has left her sister brain dead - shared a moment by Abi's bedside as Max remained in denial over her prognosis.
As Lauren came into the room, he said: "I've been telling Abi we should all go on holiday when she's back to her old self."
Holding Abi's hand as she continued to be kept alive by machines, Max added: "We can go anywhere you want, all of us together...and the baby.
"We'll be happy just like we used to be."
But the mention of the baby reminded viewers that the tot had not been visited on screen by her granddad or aunty ever since her birth.
Confused by her disappearance, one wrote on Twitter: "Abi's baby has gone, her mother has also disappeared... have the writers gone mad? #EastEnders" while another added: "Where's Abi's baby?"
A third also wrote: "I'm confused have I missed an episode I saw them deliver Abi's baby but not seen it since who's got the baby?"
Another annoyed viewer tweeted: "Lauren and Max seem totally unconcerned with Abi's baby in the special care unit."
It isn't the first time the soap has come under fire for characters disappearing at crucial moments.
Over Christmas, many viewers were up in arms that Abi and Lauren's mum Tanya vanished despite both their lives hanging in the balance at that time.
The character - played by Jo Joyner - made a surprise return on Christmas Day but soon witnessed her two daughters - Abi and Lauren - fall from the Queen Vic roof.
But despite appearing in the Boxing Day episode in the aftermath of the accident, there was no sign of her at all in the next episode, leaving fans perplexed.
Taking to Twitter, one wrote: "WHERE. IS. TANYA. #EastEnders" while another added: "So Abi isn't going to make it, but what I'm wondering is where Tanya has been hiding for most of the week?"
A third agreed, writing: "Confused as to why Tanya has just suddenly vanished when she was part of Tuesday night's cliffhanger #EastEnders".
